It’s not every day that I get the chance to spend my Saturday afternoon on the lounge deck of a posh, downtown hotel. Sometimes, however, your photographer has a brilliant idea for a shoot.

I’ve been blogging for a little over a year now, and I’ve found out how much I enjoy mixing it up when it comes to my content. These days, all bloggers hear about is the importance of branding yourself, but I’ve realized that I’m not comfortable labeling myself in that way. I like having the freedom to change, evolve, and show all different sides of my style and personality. My blog is my own creative outlet, so I should be able to do whatever I want with it, right?

One of my personal hobbies as well as favorite artistic medium is photography. When I first started this blog, I thought I would have the chance to show some of my own work, but I just haven’t found the time to do it. Instead, I get to show off the talent of other photographers! I’m always excited to let the photographers I work with spread their creative wings and use me as a muse for whatever they want to work on. In this case, my friend, Carlos Barron, thought it would be fun to do a rooftop sunset shoot at the JW Marriott. So, duh, I was super excited and all in. We played around with different angles and locations waiting for the sun to set and then BAM the light hit and it was perfection. We had such a blast and there are so many more photos I wanted to share, but I limited it to these favorites.

Thanks for reading 🙂 P.S.- My Prada shades are rented through Shop Ditto. If you use the code “byhilaryrose” you can try them out for a month free!

  1. I absolutely agree with you, Hilary. So glad you’re not on the ‘branding’ bandwagon. I absolutely adore your style. You look stunningly gorgeous in all the pictures! Loving this roof top sunset shoot. It’s incredible.
Have a great week babe! 🙂
