Yayy it’s Friday!! March seems like it’s flying by, I can’t believe it’s already time for SXSW in Austin. Things are crazy here because of it, even more so than last year because President Obama is in town today. The mayor actually suggested everyone in Austin should work from home today because of all the road closures and accompanying traffic. It’s a madhouse here! I’ll still be partaking in a few SXSW related things this weekend, though. My in-town besties and I are getting together for brunch tomorrow. It’s funny, we actually planned it before we realized it was going to be during South by, but it’s difficult to get us all together, so we are keeping our plans and just braving the traffic. Then, on Sunday, I’ll be meeting up with the Social Media Manager for Draper James for a coffee and puppy party (you never know what’s going to be happening during SXSW, haha)! We have been e-friends since she first got me my collaboration with Rebecca Minkoff back in May 2015 and I’m so excited to meet her in person!
Usually, my best friend, Lauren, and I get together for SXSW, but I think I’ve mentioned that we are going on a little trip this year instead! We are leaving for Boston next week and I am SO excited! I’ve never been before, so I’m not sure what to expect, but I’ve heard it’s a lot of fun during St. Patrick’s Day. I started preparing for what I would wear, buying green dresses and tanks, before it occurred to me that the weather probably hasn’t warmed up as much up there as it has down in Texas… Oops! I’ve since checked the weather and, yup, highs in the 50’s and rain. Guess I’ll have to wing it! We are still going to have a blast no matter what the weather is like, though. I miss her so much!
Speaking of preparing for holidays, this blue a-line dress was purchased with Easter in mind. My family and I LOVE Easter! We always plan something with our family friends, either going out to a nice brunch or hosting one at one of our houses. A few years back, we went all-out with the florals and decor and I even made a pink ombre cake! It was fabulous. We also always get our Easter dresses way in advance to make sure they’re perfect. I really liked this blue one because of the fun, twirly skirt and the fact that it’s my favorite color. I haven’t decided if it’s “the one” yet, but it’s a contender!
Thanks for reading. Have a great weekend! If you’re in Austin for SXSW, let me know!
