Bright sunny days and time with friends…that is my happy place. This week in Austin is the annual South by Southwest festival, which means music, film, and interactive events are happening everywhere at all times throughout the city. There’s something to do no matter where you go and people travel from all over to visit. This means traffic and chaos, but I love every minute of it! Lauren is still here visiting me (my photographer for this quick shoot), so we, along with my awesome roomie, Cynthia, took advantage of some of the fun parties going on.
I believe one of the requirements for festival attire is fringe, so when I saw this kimono I thought it would be perfect for SXSW. I loved that the style was a little out there, while the neutral color balanced it out nicely. I’ve also always been a big fan of velvet, so that made it catch my eye even more!
I planned on taking these photos somewhere downtown, but as soon as I saw these trees I had to stop. The bright color perfectly matched my mood, as well as my new favorite lipstick! Fortunately, these trees live behind the museum where I work so I get to see their beauty every day twice a day. Once in the early morning dew and again in the bright evening sun. I hope you have something beautiful to look at every day as well! And if not, I invite you to look for beauty in an unlikely place today.
Thanks for reading.
