Well, I’m pretending it is anyway. School is in session, Halloween decor is officially out, and pumpkin spice lattes are back, so that means Fall and it’s time to start dressing like it. Who’s with me? I’m a sucker for the neutral pieces that go with everything, so the past fews years when Fall rolls around I buy a new pair of jeans and a cream or winter white long Fall cardigan. You absolutely need those two items when the temps start dropping for two reasons:
#1 You’ll need new jeans to wear with whatever the new boot or bootie style is that year. A few years ago, ultra-skinny jeans were a necessity to tuck into your riding boots, then cuffed were clutch for short booties. The styles change every year, so that means you gotta keep up and have the right jeans.
#2 A “throw-on-and-go” long cardigan is a life saver when you have nothing to wear. It’s easy and always a crowd pleaser. Plus, it’s so comfortable (obviously) which is good for those days when you’re feeling bad about all those aforementioned PSLs.
This year, I’ve been grabbing for high-waisted Madewell jeans pretty exclusively. Some high-waisted jeans don’t do anything for your body, but Madewell really does it right. They know how to make jeans that will fit a woman’s body in the most flattering way and they are also great quality, so you’ll wear them forever. I’ve never been one to waist money on cheap jeans, I don’t think it’s ever worth it.
These are some Fall cardigans that I found recently and I want them ALL. Cream might be the color I always choose, but I’m super tempted to buy one in every color just to be on the safe side lol.
Thanks for reading! Do you have any pieces you buy every Fall?
