Carry-On Luggage | Medium Makeup Case | Small Makeup Bag | Blouse | Jeans | Shoes

If y’all remember, this is not my first time working with Jon Hart Design Luggage on a partnership. A while back, I wrote this blog post about their fabulous rolling carry-on bag and duffel bag. My rolling carry-on has now traveled with me to LA, Las Vegas, and Cancun on flights, and it has been a dream. The reason I said “heck yes!” when they asked to work with me again is because their luggage is truly high-quality, and that is so important when choosing what you’ll be using to travel with for the next some-odd years of your life.

Let’s be real, once you buy luggage you use it FOREVER, if it lasts. No one goes luggage shopping every time they go on a trip. You use it all the time, constantly, until the quality has run its course and you’re pretty much forced to buy a new set, unless you want it falling apart on you.

That’s why it’s so important to invest in pieces that will last you a long time. Not only do you have peace of mind while you’re traveling, but you’ll save money in the long run by not having to replace your old, crappy suitcases. I am here to tell you that Jon Hart is what I recommend you choose. Along with their amazing quality, they also have a million options to choose from; from rolling luggage, to carry-ons, overnight bags, makeup bags, garment bags, computer cases, backpacks, and shoe bags. I literally can’t think of anything I could need that they don’t sell, and you can get everything monogrammed (hello!) and all in matching colors (and choose from nearly 20 options).

The bright color options really come in handy when you check your bags, too. If someone tries to take it, you’ll be able to spot them right away (I’m really paranoid about that, lol). Plus, it’s fun to have all your luggage and toiletry bags match. It reminds me of the movie “New in Town.” Does anyone know the scene I’m talking about?

2 weeks ago, I was invited for a staycation at a local boutique hotel here in Austin called the Hotel Van Zandt. Excited at the chance to have a relaxing weekend with my mom, I invited her to stay with me! Also, the hotel is pet friendly, so I brought my girl Patsy along as well.

Inspired by the famous music scene in Austin, this hotel has subtle (and not so subtle, did you see the trumpet chandelier?) musical hints around every corner. One of my favorites was this old school record player which had a wall behind it decorated with birds that seemed to be flying out of it like music notes, and when you took a closer look, they were actually made of records.

After looking around a bit, my mom and I were off to brunch at their restaurant on the 4th floor, Geraldine’s! A jazz band was swinging as soon as we walked in the door and quickly we were swept off to our lovely table with a view of Rainey Street. I had the avocado toast (duh, my obsession has not ended) with arugula and a poached egg on the most delicious bread I could imagine. My mom is a sweets gal when it comes to breakfast foods (her go-to is pancakes) so she got the brioche french toast, which I gladly had a few bites of. We washed our yummy food down with classic mimosas and sat for a bit to enjoy the band before heading out.

We decided to hang out in the room for a while after brunch instead of braving the heat that day (it was almost 100 degrees). The room was so relaxing, with tranquil blue walls and a giant tub with the best view of the lake. We had a great time chatting and hanging out with Patsy (who was no happy about me not letting her on the bed lol).

After a very quick photoshoot with my photographer, Carlos, my mom and I were off to explore downtown a bit and get some dinner. I have lived here for 6 years and I still find new places to see in Austin, and definitely new places to eat, plus, my mom doesn’t get down here that often so she was happy to see the city. We had such a fun night together!

Overall, our stay was awesome! Now I’m excited to try out some more Austin hotels and see what they have in store.

Thanks for reading!
