Blue ruffle denim jacket, blue striped tee, blue jeans… is that too much? Blue has been my favorite color since forever. I think my mom instilled my love for the color because she used to always dress me in blue ever since I was a baby. I was born with blue eyes and blonde hair, so she thought it was cute for me to match my eyes (people often thought I was a boy because of it, but what are ya gonna do haha). So, ever since I was able to choose my own clothes, blue has always filled my closet. I used to try and branch out more, but now I just embrace it. It makes me happy, so why should I fight that?
If something is blue AND striped, watch out, it’s mine. This Madewell tee made it’s way home with me as soon as I saw it, I didn’t even try it on! But that’s the thing with Madewell. I know exactly how all their stuff is going to fit me because I buy so much of it, and their sizing is always consistent. I have been raving about them so much lately (completely on my own, by the way, they’re not a partner of mine) but really, everything they make is such amazing quality.
I also am so in love with this ruffle denim jacket. I LOVE that denim jackets made a comeback a few years ago and that the trend is sticking around. Anyone else out there?? They’re so cute and comfy, and the ruffles on this one give it that extra unique something.
In August, I was so fortunate to be able to visit Charleston for the solar eclipse. People came from all over the world to see it there because it was right on the line where you would see it fully, and it was an incredible sight. I couldn’t believe how cool it was! For about two minutes it got as dark as dusk and we were able to take off our eclipse glasses and see it with our own eyes. It was crazy cool and definitely worth making the drip down for.
While the eclipse was definitely the highlight of my trip, I also had such a great time exploring Chucktown with my food blogger friend Rachel (of Austinfoodstagram). We saw the famous pineapple fountain at Waterfront Park, shopped on King Street, had cocktails and apps at Husk, and of course, checked out the famous Rainbow Row. It was even more gorgeous than I could have imagined. I thought that there was no better dress to compliment the pretty colors of Rainbow Row than this adorablepolka dot wrap number. It’s on sale for under $30 now *whattt* so now’s the time to check it out if you’re loving it! It’ll be great for next Spring.
I’m heading back to Charleston tomorrow and I can’t wait to show you more of the lovely town! I’m thinking of doing a food or travel post on the city (did you see my post on where to stay?) so stay tuned for that!
