So, here I am! After months of preparation and planning, I’m here in Charleston. You know that feeling you get when you realize you’re exactly where you need to be? Well, that sensation hit me hard last week after this photoshoot at the Battery.
I arrived in Charleston last Saturday, and basically spent 4 straight days getting unpacked and dealing with all the logistics of moving and changing states. Not to mention, this is the first time I’ve ever lived alone, so figuring out all the little things I needed to do to get a new apartment up and running was crazy hectic. (I want to take a second and thank my parents for making the trip with me and for all of their help. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them, and I’m so grateful). Last Thursday though, the dust finally settled and I had the chance to get out for this photoshoot and really feel like a local. Well, I guess walking around the Battery is more like what a tourist does, but you get it. After the shoot, I parked my car by the ocean and watched the sunset (hoping to see some dolphins but no luck) and it suddenly hit me that I was here to stay. It didn’t matter if I didn’t get a chance to spot some dolphins that night because I could come back to this spot, or any of the other gorgeous spots around Charleston, any time I wanted.
I mean, what?! I’m really really here! How incredible is this? I lived in Austin for nearly 8 years and I had such a clear picture of what the rest of my life was going to look like, and just like that, I made the decision to change it completely. And now, here I am. It’s scary, exciting, and honestly, the thought of it takes my breath away countless times a day.
I want to thank all of y’all for putting up with my lack of content on here lately. To say that the last few weeks have been overwhelming for me would be an understatement, but I’m excited to pick back up and get right back into it now. Thanks so much for sticking around during this exciting transition for me! I appreciate it so much.
